The Toyota Corona and Premio are manufactured in Japan by Japanese automaker Toyota.  Both vehicles are high quality, dependable and durable family vehicles with the Premio being a luxury type sedan and the Corona being a slightly more modest luxury model.  Each were considered high-end vehicles but were offered at extremely affordable prices.  Toyota vehicles in general became a very competitive manufacturer and the quality of their cars where unmistakable.  They began to take over the market shares with their closest competitor being Nissan vehicles.

The Toyota Corona was in production between 1957 and 2002.  Its closest competitor is the Nissan Bluebird.  The Premio was designed and built to provide a vehicle that would be a higher quality vehicle than the Toyota Corolla while a lesser luxurious model than the upscale Toyota Camry.  It was also considered a more luxurious vehicle than the Toyota Allion.   The Allion was actually developed to be appealing to the younger generation touting a sporty style.   Although the Allion and Premio was introduced at the same time their target market was different with the Premio have a more sophisticated elegant appearance over the sporty appearing Allion.

Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota moved forward with extensive exporting of the Toyota Corona over the decades it was produced.  It became extremely attractive in the United States and was marketed as the big car in a small affordable package.  It carried the excellent craftsmanship of Japanese automotive manufacturing into the lives of people around the world.  It became a sought after vehicle due to its long running durability and fuel economy.   By todays standards it would also be considered environmentally friendly and a fuel-efficient alternative to other vehicles of its same class.

The Toyota Corona Premo began as a luxury sedan but morphed into additional models such as a station wagon, coupe, lift back and hatchback.  They also came in two door and four door models, front wheel drive and rear wheel drive.   Engines ranged from 1.5-liter to 2.0-liter with transmissions ranging from automatic to five speed manual transmission.  Over the decades these cars where in production there were over eleven different generations with multiple models available, each with improvements over the last model.  From conception of the Corona it became a standard for other manufacturers to strive for and was hard to beat when compared side by side with its competitors.

The Toyota Corona was used as a taxi in many countries because of its size, luxury appeal and long lasting durability and dependability.  It was available for executive level transports and used by many as a luxury high-end alternative to other automotive manufacturers.   The appearance of the early Coronas as well as the later models was one of elegance and high quality, lending itself well to the executive use.  Many people desired ownership of this amazing vehicle and the quality and elegance it would lend to its owner was unmistakable.
